This colourful sandalwood dorid (Acanthodoris lutea) was noticed at Maple Bay, Vancouver Island, on a small rocky reef.  I was very surprised to see a bright orange nudibranch with pure white gills, and had not noticed one like this before on a dive.  It was identified as a sandalwood dorid by marine life experts.  The sandalwood dorid can grow to 1.2 inches (3 cm) in length, with a range from southern BC to northern Mexico.
