Project Description

This Townsend’s Eualid (Eualus townsendi) was a great find on a recent night dive.  I like the transparency of the body with interesting red markings and yellow highlights.  This shrimp is similar looking in colour pattern to Kincaid’s shrimp, but does not have a light coloured line along the length of its head spike (rostrum).  Townsend’s Eualid has a range that includes Siberia, as well as northern Alaska to southern Washington, and can grow to 2.3 inches (6cm) in length.
