Project Description

My friend Gildas Dayon is great at finding interesting critters.  This is especially true with this tiny miniature spinyhead (Mesocrangon munitella).  This shrimp was very small and blended in extremely well with its surroundings.  After simply looking away for a few seconds to make a strobe adjustment, I looked back and could not see the perfectly still shrimp even though it was right in front of me!  Gildas was nearby and shined his light on the little shrimp so I could once again line it up in my camera sights.  The miniature spinyhead reaches 1 inch (2.5cm) in length, with a range from northern BC to northern Mexico.
