At McKenzie Bight, I noticed a parasol bryozoan (Caulibugula californica) living in a sheltered low current area. Fortunately it was situated in front of a crevice which created a dark backdrop to the photo. This is a distinctive species that can grow to 1.5 inches (3.5 cm) tall, with a range from British Columbia to northern Mexico.
