Project Description

These orange social tunicates (Metandrocarpa taylori) were found hidden and protected under the lower curve of a large boulder.  Some orange social tunicates can be yellow in colour while others bright orange.  These small clustered tunicates are joined together by a thin tissue layer at their bases.  Orange social tunicates can reach 0.8 inches (2 cm) tall, with a range from southern Alaska to southern California.
