This orange finger sponge (Isodictya rigida) was noticed on a night dive and its bright colouration really caught my eye. It is identified by the openings only being at the ends of each tube. This sponge can have many tubes joined together as in this photo, or also grow as a single tube. A white colour variation exists with this sponge as well. The orange finger sponge can grow to around 10 inches (25 cm) tall, with a range from southern Alaska to northern California.
