Project Description

The mottled star (Evasterias troschelii) resembles the ochre star but has a smaller central disc and rays that look longer and narrower.  This sea star can be observed in a wide variety of colours from deep orange, to rust and brown and also green to blue-grey.  The mottled star can grow to around 24 inches (60 cm) across, with a range from the Bering Sea to central California.
