Project Description

What a surprise I had diving when I saw these moon jelly (Aurelia labiata) amphipod hitchhikers!   These small guys were hunkered down for the ride and didn’t seem to mind the moon jelly below them bobbing around in the ocean current.

Moon jellies can grow to 16 inches (40 cm) across, and live worldwide in temperate seas, but here on the west coast they have a range from southern Alaska to southern California.
