Project Description

The graceful crab (Cancer gracilis) prefers to live in areas that are muddy, and this one was in shallow water at the Ogden Point Breakwater in Victoria.  The graceful crab has long purple walking legs and thick claws with white tips.  This crab can grow to about 4.5 inches (11.4 cm) across its shell (carapace), with a range from central Alaska to northern Mexico.
