Project Description

It was fantastic to find this miniature spinyhead (Mesocrangon munitella) on a McKenzie Bight night dive.  It looks very unusual compared to many other shrimp with its compact anterior section and white abdomen.  This shrimp is difficult to spot because it moves slowly and is relatively small.  The miniature spinyhead reaches 1 inch (2.5cm) in length, with a range from northern BC to northern Mexico.
