Project Description

I’ve always enjoyed seeing blue branching seaweed (Fauchea laciniata) on a night dive as its iridescent glow looks amazing under a dive light.  The raised dots over the surface of this specimen contain reproductive cells.  Blue branching seaweed is a type of fan shaped red algae that can grow to 6.2 inches (15.5 cm) across, with a range from central Alaska to northern Mexico.
